Every company anniversary is special—but the 13th? Well, that’s practically legendary! So, when the time came to celebrate QubeApps turning 13, we knew a simple indoor gathering with predictable lighting and air-conditioning just wouldn’t cut it. It had to be memorable, adventurous, and truly special. With this in mind, our team packed our bags (and perhaps one too many mosquito repellents) and ventured outdoors for our first-ever nature-inspired celebration: a memorable 2-day, 1-night event at the beautiful Beacon Resort in Hulu Selangor. Because let’s face it—after 13 successful years together, nothing says “bonding” quite like sharing mosquito sprays, awkward campfire dances, and spectacular meals under actual stars!

Every outdoor event in Malaysia comes with a little gamble—particularly when it comes to our unpredictable tropical weather. True to form, the sky decided to sprinkle some drama our way. Just before the main celebration, clouds rolled in and rain began to fall, threatening to push us indoors beneath the familiar (though less exciting) ceiling lights. But as if scripted, the skies miraculously cleared at precisely the right moment, giving us the green light to celebrate under the open stars as intended. It felt like a gentle nod from above, reminding us that despite life’s uncertainties, things often have a delightful way of working out just in time.

What made this even more special was seeing our amazing Muslim colleagues fully engaged, spirited, and enthusiastic, despite the event coinciding with the fasting month. If that’s not true commitment and dedication—honestly, we don’t know what is!

We began the celebration with lively team-building games. It was a chance to laugh together, play together, and maybe even trip over each other a little bit. The air was filled with joy, reminding us once again that it’s not always about winning, it’s about cherishing the moments along the way.

As evening arrived, we enjoyed delicious food while chatting and relaxing with colleagues. It felt great to mingle, unwind, and talk about anything and everything—except work! We shared stories, joked around, and simply enjoyed each other’s company.

One particularly touching moment was when we watched our Journey Lookbook, revisiting memories from our past 13 years. Smiles, laughter, and even a few emotional tears were inevitable. We were deeply moved by a heartfelt sharing session by one of our colleagues, who has journeyed with us for five meaningful years, reminding us how far we’ve come together as one big family.

Before moving on to the highlight of the evening, we paused for something truly special—a song crafted exclusively for QubeApps. Listening to the heartfelt lyrics of “Qube of Memories,” beautifully performed by our colleagues, we felt genuine warmth and sincerity in every word.

It perfectly captured the spirit, journey, and heart of QubeApps. With the melody still echoing gently around us, we gathered around our anniversary cake. In that simple yet meaningful moment, we realized the sweetness of the cake symbolized much more than desert. It represented years of friendship, teamwork, and countless shared memories.

Then, almost as if to celebrate with us, the sky erupted spectacularly with fireworks. Enormous bursts lit up the darkness, showering brilliant lights like a meteor shower raining down around us. Standing side by side beneath the sparkling sky, we felt deeply grateful—not just for this magical moment but also for each other. It was exactly what “Bonding Under The Stars” was all about.

After such heartfelt moments, the mood shifted to pure excitement as we headed toward the inviting glow of the bonfire. Let’s be honest: dancing around a bonfire sounded poetic at first, but turned hilariously awkward in practice—and we loved every second of it! Colleagues who normally seemed calm and composed suddenly revealed dance moves we’ll fondly (and humorously) remember for years.

Once we’d thoroughly embraced our questionable choreography, we transitioned into lively singing performances from our talented colleagues. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and soon everyone joined in, singing along loudly, happily, and perhaps not always in tune—but definitely with plenty of heart! These joyful moments were our way of expressing heartfelt appreciation not just within QubeApps, but also to our partners and customers who’ve supported us along our journey.

Our colleagues’ overwhelming feedback touched us deeply. The only complaint? They wanted more time together. “Perhaps a three-day celebration next time?” they gently suggested. Consider that feedback well noted—and perhaps already in the works!

This celebration reinforced something important: genuine relationships are built on shared experiences, mutual respect, and the simple joy of spending quality time together. It’s not only about how far we’ve come, but also how we’ve grown stronger as one family along the way.
